Jail, fine and deportation for selling illegal drugs in Oman

Mudhaibi: An expatriate who sold unlicensed drugs has been fined, sent to prison and faces deportation.

Judicial officers from the Department of Consumer Protection in Mudhaibi arrested the expat for promoting and selling the illegal drugs.

The Royal Oman Police’s Department of Narcotics Control was monitoring the man while he was selling the drugs and consequently he was arrested with 21 types of drugs in his possession.

The Mudhaibi Preliminary Court charged the man for selling unregistered drugs, breaching public morality and working another job than that which is licensed in the Sultanate.

The court fined him OMR1000, sentenced him to six months in prison and ordered his deportation from the Sultanate on completion of the prison sentence.
