Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who has worked with megastar Amitabh Bachchan for movies like "Sarkar", "Nishabd", "Department" among others, says he shares only a professional relationship with the Bachchan family.
"I don't share a close bond with them (Bachchan family). In fact, they never call me for (a) Holi party or anything. My relationship with (the) Bachchan family is professional.
Because me and Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) work a lot, so they (people) assume that (we share a close bond)," Varma told PTI.
Bachchan, also popular with the name Big B, has also featured in "Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag", "Sarkar Raj" and "Rann", all directed by Varma.
After being disassociated from Bollywood for sometime the "Satya" helmer was not in touch with anyone from the industry.
"I was not in touch with anybody. I don't have friends, I don't go to party (parties) or socialise. I am not a social person. I don't have any kind of relationship with anybody. As I am busy working all the time," the 54-year-old director added.
The "Rangeela" helmer never had friends in his school days as well.
"I don't need friends. Industry survives on vision and not on friendship. Nobody really cares about anybody and it is part of human nature," he adds.
RGV speaks to people only when he has some work and says, "I never meet people for gossip or discuss the weather".
On the work front, Varma plans to make the third instalment of "Sarkar" with senior Bachchan. And he has a film titled "Rai" with actor Vivek Oberoi.
"I am making 'Sarkar 3' with Mr Bachchan (Amitabh Bachchan). It's on scripting stage. Then I have 'Rai' with Vivek (Oberoi)," he added.
