Nizwa: Nizwa Grand Mall was opened yesterday in the Wilayat of Nizwa in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah under the auspices of Mohammed bin Nasser Al Rasbi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence.
Director General of the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund gave a speech in which he emphasised the Fund’s own interest to give priority to the implementation of this project to the small and medium enterprises.
Board Chairman of Amjad Group Holding (the developer of the project), delivered a speech in which he said that the project is distinguished for the existence of the Omani national staff in all of its stages.
A presentation was then given about the stages of building the mall. The sponsor of opening ceremony accompanied by the attendees toured the mall.
He also laid the foundation stone for the second phase of development of the project, which will include hotel, offices building, and multipurpose hall, in addition to a residential building.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence stated: “This mall (Nizwa Grand Mall) is one of the most important real estate investments for the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, as the fund has adopted a balanced investment policy to diversify sources of income, and the establishment of this centre is also within the general policy of the real estate investment, where the fund seeks to establish real estate projects in all governorates of the Sultanate to activate the economic, tourism and service activities in those governorates.”
The mall aims to activate the trade activity in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliya and to promote the investment of the pension fund, in addition to the provision of goods and basic necessities and luxuries
The construction area of the project is 36,700 square meters. The mall includes a range of global brands and commercial areas, the central lounge, dining and entertainment area, and retail outlets.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces corps, some honorable members of the State Council, the Governor of A’Dakhiliyah, Walis, senior officers and officers and a invitees.
