Muscat: Medical evacuations have been conducted by the Royal Air Force of Oman for two patients who were suffering from critical health conditions.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "A helicopter of the Royal Air Force of Oman carried out a medical evacuation of a critically ill citizen. He was transferred from Khasab Hospital in Musandam Governorate to Sohar Hospital in North Al Batinah Governorate to receive the necessary specialised treatment."
"In another such incident, a helicopter carried out a medical evacuation at sea for a crew member of a transiting commercial ship belonging to the Republic of Bulgaria, 50 miles from the Governorate of Dhofar. The helicopter transported the patient, who was in a critical condition, on board the ship to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, where he received the necessary specialised treatment," ONA added.
