Oman Airports issues statement on travel during movement ban

Muscat: Passengers' escort must coordinate with the operations of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) before heading to the airport during the closure.

A statement issued online by Oman Airports said: "In its continuous sessions held to address the urgent needs generated by COVID-19 in the Sultanate, the Supreme Committee's decision of the closure of all commercial activities and the movement ban of individuals and vehicles starting from 5 pm to 4 am, in addition to the complete ban on the movement of individuals and vehicles during the three days of Eid Al-Adha ( July 20 to July 22,2021), shall take effect tomorrow evening, on Friday. Consequently, we would like to inform you all that passengers departing and entering through Oman Airports during the above-mentioned duration are allowed to travel (only one escort is allowed with the presentation of a travel document), taking with regard COVID-19 travel requirements and procedures and medical tests required for your destination. Taking into consideration that the PCR test facility at MCT Airport will remain active under the following terms:

• Passengers should provide their necessary traveling documents.

• Non-travelers should call for approval from Royal Oman police at the following number 1099."
