Sponsored by Zubair Corporation INJAZ, Oman to conduct closing ceremony of the 10th edition of the Student Company Programme and Competition

Muscat: Under the patronage of the Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp), INJAZ Oman will be hosting the closing ceremony of the ‘Student Company’ programme and competition this evening at 7pm at the Madinat Al Irfan Theatre in the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The 10th edition of the programme will be held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Fahr Al Said, alongside the presence of several Highnesses, Excellencies as well as senior officials from the public and private sector entities that participating in the programme. The main objective of the programme is catered towards developing the skills of the youth to enrich their creativity and leadership capabilities. This way, they are prepared to enter into the labour market with ready-skillsets to enhance effectiveness.

15 student companies from the programme have qualified for the final stage to compete for the title of “The Best Student Company in the Sultanate for 2021”. Post qualification, they will represent the Sultanate in a regional competition. The participants in the Student Company programme will be evaluated by a committee of independent judges, comprising of a diverse panel of men and women, who are key leaders and entrepreneurs in their field. The assessment of the teams will take into consideration how the teams raise capital, develop a business plan and the creation of a product or service that will be provided to customers. The programme plan consists of 12 sessions, with the selection of the winning student company in the last session. Notable sponsors of the Student Company programme include the Zubair Corporation, as the main sponsor of the competition, Ominvest as a sponsor of the school programme, as well as Boeing, Sohar International and MetLife as sub-sponsors.

The Student Company programme from INJAZ Oman aims to provide a unique educational process for undergraduate students. It seeks to enable them to establish pioneering companies in the community by discovering the talents of university students, supporting and qualifying them to create entities that contribute to the economy of the labour market in the future. The Student Company program provides students with the opportunities to learn and know more about establishing, organising and managing entrepreneurial companies. This way, it seeks to encourage students from all academic backgrounds to take their first steps in the world of business and enable them to come up them with innovative solutions for the challenges faced in society. Through their contribution, it will enhance economic development and empower societies in the Middle East and North Africa. This step is possible by conducting a series of training and qualification courses as a means of support to enable them to run their commercial endeavours.
