Muscat Media Group and Xinhua renew pact on media cooperation

Muscat: The Muscat Media Group (MMG) and New China News Agency (Xinhua News Agency) have renewed their partnership agreement on media cooperation in all media fields.

According to the agreement, each group benefits from one another in the exchange of news in all political, social, cultural, arts, sports, technology and other fields in both Arabic and English.

On behalf of Muscat Media Group, the agreement was signed by Ali bin Hamad Al Rahbi, Director of Corporate Communications of Muscat Media Group, while on behalf of New China News Agency, it was signed by Yang Yuan Yong, Director of the Offices of Xinhua News Agency in Oman and Qatar.

Following the signing ceremony, held at the headquarters of MMG in Muscat, Ali bin Hamad Al Rahbi, Director of Corporate Communications at Muscat Media Group, expressed his delight over the renewal of partnership agreement with Xinhua, which is of vital importance to both the groups.

The two sides have cooperated during the past two years, he said, adding such cooperation is positively reflected in several achievements for both the groups.

The partnership is not only related to news and media cooperation but also focuses on the role media play in expanding horizons of economic, investment and tourism cooperation between the two countries, he added.
The agreement between the two sides came at the time of the Renewed Renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and aimed at expanding cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and China, he added.

The partnership came at a time when the relations between the two countries are increasing at all levels, notably in economic and political fields, he said.

This partnership and cooperation would positively reflect on both the groups not just in the media field but in other fields too.

For instance at the media level, they can benefit from each other in exchange of information, training and video footages in both Arabic and English as well as in publications and organising different events, which would further cement our ties, he added. This media cooperation would showcase the vital role played by the leaders of the two countries; His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and Chinese President Xi Jinping,  he added.

On the other hand, Yang Yuan Yong expressed his delight over renewal of the agreement, which he said, would add to the cooperation accorded during the past two years and further cement the ties between the two groups and the countries.

He said that MMG is one of the largest media groups and Xinhua is an international agency so there would be distinct and fruitful cooperation between the two groups.

The renewal of the agreement reflected the joint achievements made by them in the interest of both the countries, he said.

He said that the cooperation during the past two years, was constructive and fruitful.

For instance, MMG has benefited from the various media, news and press services offered by Xinhua News Agency, which in turn benefited from the services offered by MMG, he said.

“We have succeeded in opening media cooperation horizons between the two countries, which would have positive results,”, he further said, adding that in the future the two sides would further strengthen cooperation in various fields.
