Muscat : The body of a  citizen who had gone missing was found in a mountain in the wilayat of Bahla in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, after three consecutive nights of searches. He was taken to the hospital by police aviation and the authority’s ambulance.

Mohammed bin Sulaiman bin Tamim Al Hina’ai, representative of the wilayat of Bahla in the governorate of Al Dakhiliyah at Majlis Al Shura, spoke exclusively to the Times of Oman about the details of the missing citizen in the mountains of Bahla wilayat last Friday.

“On last Friday afternoon, the citizen Saeed bin Salem Al Hina’ai was reported missing in the mountains of the Wilayat of Bahla. He left his family in the morning to search for honey but they lost contact with him after that, so that the competent authorities from the Civil Defence Department, the Royal Oman Police, (ROP), and the Royal Oman Police aviation in the wilayat were notified.

“Immediately, these authorities, along with the people of the wilayat, began searching for the citizen in the mountains.”

Mohammed Al Hina’ai spared no effort since the first hours of receiving the report of the missing citizen, so he moved directly with the volunteer citizens, forming teams for search operations in coordination with the competent authorities for three consecutive nights.

He added: “The voluntary teams of people spread among the mountains in search for three consecutive nights until the missing citizen was found dead by one of the voluntary civil teams in a very rugged mountainous area that only beekeepers who know the narrow corridors and roads between the mountains can reach.”

Al Hina’ai continued, “After the citizen was found dead, direct contact was made with the Royal Oman Police so accordingly, a Royal Oman Police helicopter was sent to retrieve the body and transport it to the hospital, after which it will be transported for burial in the wilayat.”

He praised “the efforts of the Royal Oman Police aviation, as the area is very rugged and it is very difficult to land the helicopter in this area where the citizen was found.”

The citizen, who was found dead, was about 51 years old, and is a father of eight children, three boys and five girls. He is from the wilayat of Bahla, from Seih Al Ma’ashi area, and he is a fan of searching for honey.

Mohammed bin Sulaiman bin Tamim Al Hina’ai expressed his sincere thanks to the Royal Oman Police, the Civil Defence Department in the wilayat and all the voluntary civil teams from inside and outside the region, and about 500 volunteers who participated in the search operations.

He also expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased, asking God Almighty to inspire them with patience and solace and wrap the deceased in his vast gardens.
