Oct Ruwi get the better of Bank Muscat by 8 wickets

Muscat: Oct Ruwi got the better of Bank Muscat by eight wickets in the B Division match of the Oman Cricket League here on Friday. Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Bank Muscat inched their way to 176 all out in their allotted 30 Overs. Asghar Khan was the top scorer with 68 runs off just 53 balls, studded with ten boundaries. Zubair Al Akbar Albalushi was the pick of the bowlers for Oct Ruwi, scalping two wickets for 22. Al Akbar Albalushi and Imran Al Balushi gave him good company with two wickets apiece. Replying to the target, Oct Ruwi knocked off the runs in 25.4 overs for the loss of two wickets.

Opener Shuaib Ismail Balushi scored 66 runs, with seven hits to the fence. Amir Mehmood was the sole bowler to take a wicket, picking up one wicket for 25 runs.

Choosing to bat after winning the toss, PDO RC started well with opening batsman Azhar Habib’s 61 in 38 balls, studded with seven boundaries and one maximum and Tayyaz Rashid 63 off 43 balls with seven boundaries. Waleed Rahim Al Balushi picked up two wickets for 37 runs for OCT Al Hail ‘A’. In reply, OCT Al Hail ‘A’ were all out for a paltry 128 runs in 28.2 overs. Waleed Rahim Al Balushi was the sole notable contributor with the bat, scoring 37 runs off 49 balls. Muhammed Idress took two wickets for 25 runs, Azhar Habib took 2 for 8, and Samad Syed Wahid took 2 for 18.

In the C Division match, Vanderlande beat Nibrass Tech by 8 wickets. Put into bat after losing the toss, Nibrass Tech scored 118 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Avinash Joseph Gregory top scored with 30 runs off 31 balls, while Wasim Sahed, Aasim Mohammed & Rahul Chadha picked up two wickets apiece. In reply, Vanderlande reached the target in the 13 th over itself for the loss of only 2 wickets. Barathwaj Vinayagam led the scoring with his quickfire 51 off 34 balls, studded with seven

boundaries. Adeel Kazhi & Shahid Hassan Muhammad picked up the two wickets to fall.

In another high-scoring match of the C Division, Ideal International outsmarted Al Waad Trad & Contracting by 20 runs, despite a valiant 88 by Al Waad’s Suseendran Sirachezhain.

Put to bat first, Ideal International had a bad start with opener Akbar Shaikh dismissed of the first ball bowled. Wasim Jamadar and Ruban Durai started the recovery for Ideal. Deepak Bhandari was the top scorer for the team with 71 from just 35 balls, studded with 12 boundaries, leading Ideal International to 221 for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Sidhi Suman took two for 37 for Al Waad Trad & Contracting Enterprises.

In reply, Suseendran Sirachezhain starts brilliantly for Al Waad, scoring 88 in 57 balls with 10 boundaries. He was ably supported by Parthipan Krishnan who scored 59 off 33, but the team fell short by 20 runs. Salman Khan picked up three wickets for 42 runs for Ideal.
