Weather update: Parts of Oman continue to be affected by low pressure trough

Muscat: A trough of low pressure continues to affect parts of the Sultanate Oman and will do so until Wednesday, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said in its latest weather update.

“Weather analysis at the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre indicates that a trough of low pressure will continue to affect Oman until Wednesday (day time) 1st December 2021,” CAA said in weather bulletin No.2

The weather will be cloudy with chances of rain, occasionally thundershowers, fresh winds, hail, flash floods in wadis over the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Muscat and South Al Sharqiyah in addition to Al- Hajar Mountains and the adjacent areas.

Moderate sea conditions along most of the Sultanate coasts with maximum wave height of 2.0 meters with seas becoming rough during thundershowers along the coastal areas of Musandam Governorate and Oman sea coast with maximum wave height of 3 meters.

The Civil Aviation Authority advises all to take precautions during rain and wadis and to check the sea state before sailing.
