Muscat: World Health Organisation (WHO) has urged not to use the blood plasma of recovered Covid-19 patients to treat those inflicted with the virus.
According to Oman News Agency (ONA), the World Health Organisation indicated that there is no evidence to prove that the plasma of recovered people improves the patient's chances of survival, and it does not reduce the need to put the patient on a respirator.
The organisation's international expert committee stated that several studies have proven the futility of this treatment in patients with severe symptoms, and suggested its ineffectiveness in treating patients with mild to moderate symptoms.
