Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,008.15 points, down 0.09 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.16 per cent at 531.09 points. Oman Fisheries, was the top gainer up 6.45 per cent while, Aman Real Estate down 4.04 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of OIFC were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 481 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.41 million, with more than 13.93 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 9 advanced, 16 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR178,000 while domestic investors were net buyers for OMR174,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR4,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,396.88 points, down 0.45 per cent. Oman & Qatar Insurance, HSBC Bank Oman and Sohar International Bank were up 3.41 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Investment, National Bank Oman, United Finance, Muscat Finance and Global Investment Holding were down 3.06 per cent, 2.11 per cent, 1.89 per cent, 1.79 per cent and 1.64 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,049.67 points, down 0.24 per cent. Oman Fisheries was the only gainer by 6.45 per cent. Al Maha Ceramics, Jazeera Steel Product and Oman Flour Mills were down 1.96 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.29 per cent before closing at 1,595.58 points. Ooredoo, Omantel, Muscat Desalinate, OIFC and Al Jazeera Services were up 2.35 per cent, 1.71 per cent, 1.03 per cent, 0.71 per cent and 0.61 per cent respectively. Al Batinah Power and Renaissance Services were down 2.04 per cent and 1.35 per cent respectively.
