Place of worship in Oman: Jama’a Al Bait

Ramadan presents a great opportunity to go pray in beautiful houses of worship that you might not otherwise see. Whether for Taraweeh prayers or Dhuhr, this month, take time to pay a visit to one of Muscat’s architectural monuments of faith.

{ Jama’a Al Bait }

Al Bait mosque is a six-year-old concrete beauty located on Al Inshirah Street in Madinat Sultan Qaboos. The modern classic exterior is graced with grainy, light maroon tiles that cover the entire building, complementing the slender green-tiled pillars in the front of the structure. The real show-stopper of this mosque is its distinctive, dark wooden door, embellished with delicate carvings and silver finishes. Inside you will find a gigantic sculpture of the Holy Quran hanging from the wall of the prayer hall.
