Muscat: The Ministry of Information has issued a statement on the media hosting Honorable Members of the Shura Council.
The Ministry of Information has followed with interest what is being circulated regarding the organisation of media hosting Honorable Members of the Shura Council. In this context, the Ministry would like to clarify the following:
1. The Ministry of Information supervises the work of media establishments in the Sultanate of Oman in accordance with Royal Decree No. (95 / 2020) and is entrusted with informing media establishments of circulars regulating media work.
2. The various media organisation that are hosting the honorable members of the Shura Council to talk about the aspects related to the work of the Council and its competencies require prior coordination with the Information Department of the Council, in accordance with the media policy that the Shura Council has issued its internal regulations approved by the Council.
Accordingly, the role of the Ministry of Information in organising media work requires emphasising the importance of adhering to what is stated in this policy to ensure the organisation of coordination procedures between the Shura Council and the various media outlets.
