Classes suspended for some schools in Muscat Governorate

Muscat: Classes for schoolchildren as well as mid-term exams for a number of schools in Muscat Governorate have been suspended due to the rainfall and the resulting traffic diversions it caused on Tuesday.

The Directorate General of Education in the Governorate of Muscat said: “Due to the effects resulting from the rains and the rise in the water level in the areas where some of the governorate’s schools are located, and based on the approval of the Emergency Management Committee, the Ministry of Education decided to suspend studies and exams in the following schools:

1. In the Wilayat of Baushar, Thuraya Bint Muhammad Al Busaidi Schools and Faydh Al Marefa School where exams will resume on Thursday, January 6, 2022, and Al Ola School, where classes will resume on Sunday January 9, 2022

2. In wilayat of Muscat, studies will be suspended at Al Tawfiq School for Basic Education, and classes will resume on Thursday.
