
Muscat: The Ministry of Economy has appreciated the royal directive of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to raise the financial allocations for the Governorates Development Programme to OMR 20 million for each governorate.
"The Ministry of Economy confirmed that directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to increase the amounts allocated to the Governorates development programme from OMR 10 million to OMR 20 million for each governorate during the years of the current five-year plan 2021-2025 is considered supportive of the implementation of strategic programmes for the priority development of governorates and sustainable cities, a catalyst for the competitive comparative advantages of the governorates and an enhanced justice for development," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
His Excellency Dr. Nasser bin Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy said that raising the financial allocations for the governorates development programme contributes to accelerating the development of the governorates' economy and expanding the scope of programmes and projects that the governorates intend to implement, and accelerating the strategic transformation of the government's shift towards decentralisation.
