Muscat: The National Museum has launched the new year calendar and notebook documenting the historical legacy of the late Sultan Said bin Taimur from the collections.
The National Museum said: "The museum launched the (1443-1444 /2022 ) calendar and notebook where the phrase “Muhibukum” is the front cover and inspired by one of the official seals of the late Sultan Said bin Taimur. The calendar and notebook highlight aspects of the legacy of the late Sultan Said bin Taimur in various fields, and review a number of royal artefacts, which document historical stages of the late Sultan's life."
"The selected artefacts, which were acquired by the National Museum, shed light on the reign of the late Sultan Said bin Taimur. Collection included amulet necklace presented to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said from his father, the late Sultan Said bin Taimur, a commemorative gift box presented by the Hyderabadi ithnã’ashari (Twelvers) of Mattrah as an Oath of Allegiance to Sultan Said bin Taimur, in addition to a banknote album, and an al-Bab al-Kabir commemorative plaque dating to 1354 AH/1935 CE. The collection also includes commemorative stamps.
The 2022 calendar is a continuation of the 2021 calendar, which was topped by the word “Muhibukum” Qaboos bin Said, and highlighted parts of the great legacy immortalised by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur.
