Nizwa: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrated yesterday Annual Day, which falls on 5 January every year as it coincides with the anniversary of opening of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences.
On the occasion, Brigadier Salim Rashid Al Alawi, Commander of Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences said that ROP Annual Day is celebrated to mark the opening of Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences on 5 January 1980, under the patronage of late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour.
The event and the celebration of the anniversary inspire ROP personnel to extend tremendous efforts for achieving further glory in various fields and for security and stability of the country, he said expressing his pride “We are all honoured by the Royal patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik”.
Lt General Ghalia bint Masallam Al Hajri, who topped the officers cadet session expressed her pride over the occasion which she described as a source of pride to all personnel of Royal Oman Police.
Graduates of other brotherly countries expressed their delight over the graduation at Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences.
It is worth mentioning that Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences comprises a number of specialised training institutes such as the Officers Institute, Non-commissioned Officers Institute, Police Recruits Institute besides the Research Centre and Royal Oman Police College among others.
