IMO announces International Day for Women in Maritime

Muscat: The International Day for Women in the Maritime sector will be observed on May 18 every year.

"The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) adopted, during the meeting of it’s General Assembly in its 32nd session, a resolution setting the date of May 18 of each year as the International Day for Women in the Maritime sector in recognition of their essential role in the maritime transport industry and their empowerment in maritime work around the world," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
