Muscat: The Council of Ministers has approved to extend the disbursement of the job security benefit and the monthly subsidy to Omanis who terminated their services within the Sultanate of Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The Government Communication (GC) said that in a translation of the continuous interest that the Council of Ministers attaches to the initiatives related to the aspect of social protection to support the services of Omanis working within the Sultanate of Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Council agreed on the following:
1- Extension of the period for disbursing the job security benefit and allowing the acceptance of late applications until the end of June 2022.
2- Extension of the monthly subsidy disbursement for those who terminated their services from Omanis working in GCC countries in the sectors (civil/military/private) whose services were terminated from March 2020 and did not join work until May 25, 2021. The monthly subsidy payment for this category continues to be until the end of June 2022.
3- Disbursing a monthly subsidy to those who terminate their services from Omanis working in the GCC countries in the sectors (civil/military/private) whose services were terminated from May 26, 2021 and did not join work until the end of the year 2021 in accordance with the conditions established for entitlement to the subsidy for the first time. The subsidy will be paid from the date of submitting the application until the end of June 2022.
4- Postponing the application of the text of Article (12) of the job security system, which included the need for the subscription period to not be less than 12 months for entitlement to the benefit in November 2021 so that the text of the article will be implemented as of November 1, 2022.
