
Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,258.16 points, up by 0.83 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.48 per cent at 493.50 points.
Al Omaniya Financial Services, up 6.58 per cent, was the top gainer while, SMN Power Holding, down 4.55 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Omaniya Financial Services were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 718 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR7.7 million, with more than 34 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded securities, 16 advanced, 11 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR287,000 while domestic investors were net buyers for OMR208,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR79,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6842.92 points, up by 1.32 per cent. Prices of Al Omaniya Financial Services, HSBC Bank Oman, National Bank Oman, Al Anwar Investment, and Sohar International Bank were up by 6.58 per cent, 2.8 per cent, 2.58 per cent, 2.33 per cent, and 1.75 per cent respectively. Prices of Al Madina Investments, Muscat Finance, United Finance, National Finance, and Ominvest were down by 2.13 per cent, 1.59 per cent, 1.18 per cent, 0.85 per cent, and 0.61 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5944.77 points, up by 0.64 per cent. Prices of Oman Cables Industry, Jazeera Steel Products, Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries, and Oman Flour Mills were up by 3.66 per cent, 2 per cent, 1.39 per cent, 1.32 per cent and 0 per cent respectively. The price of Raysut Cement was down by 0.54 per cent.
Services Index was down by 0.75 per cent before closing at 1627.3 points. Prices of Ooredoo, National Gas, Al Jazeera Preference Shares, Oman Telecom, and Renaissance Services were up by 0 per cent, 0 per cent, 0 per cent, 0 per cent, and 0 per cent respectively. Prices of SMN Power Holding, Shell Oman Marketing, OIFC, Al Jazeera Services, and Al Maha Marketing were down by 4.55 per cent, 4.35 per cent, 1.94 per cent, 1.38 per cent, and 0.58 per cent respectively.
