Muscat: With an aim to attract and foster the growth of Omani talent, Oman Arab Bank (OAB) are participating in the Career and Training Opportunities Fair at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) which started on the 28th and comes to an end today, the 30th of March, 2022.
The Career Fair has attracted more than 43 participants from private and government sectors and is estimated to receive between 10,000-15,000 visitors from all over Oman during the course of the event.
By participating in the Career Fair, OAB endeavours to develop the skills of Omani students and graduates, in order to equip them to achieve success in the workplace. OAB has set up a booth at the fair, where students can interact with staff and learn important skills which they can use once they start working. OAB’s Human Resources representatives will not only present the bank as an ideal organisation to start a potential career in banking with, but will also offer students guidance, advice and a variety of internship and graduate trainee opportunities to choose from.
Speaking about their participation in the Career Fair, Essam Al Busaidi, Head of the Human Resources Division at Oman Arab Bank said, “Developing the talent and skills of young Omanis – the future leaders of tomorrow – is one of the core mandates at OAB. Our participation at SQU’s Career Fair aims to showcase the variety of career paths available to the youth, as well as our commitment to shaping the careers of our potential employees from their very first interaction with OAB. Our intention is to enable students to garner enough practical skills before they graduate, and to assist in their transition into employment.”
In an effort to help students and graduates explore and apply for available jobs and training opportunities, Al Busaidi added, “Our booth at the SQU Career Fair is aimed at encouraging students to ask questions and learn about the banking sector and the stepping stones required to develop their careers beyond job applications. We would like to invite all aspiring students to our booth to help them plan for a successful career ahead. We hope to see you there.”
OAB continues to host several other training initiatives to assist students preparing for numerous career trajectories in banking; such as the graduate training programme at the OAB training centre every year.
