Public grill zone in Amerat by third quarter

Muscat: People in Oman looking to enjoy an open-air barbecue in Amerat will soon be able to do so when a public spot for grilling activities opens up in the third quarter of this year.

Work on the barbecue spot in the neighbourhood of Al Amerat Heights 2 began in February 2022 as part of efforts by Muscat Municipality to improve the quality of urban services and aesthetic appearance of the city.

“The project aims to establish an integrated service site where mobile food vendors can gather at a single place,” said Muscat Municipality in a statement. “This will also significantly protect residential sites from harmful grilling fumes and facilitate health control and food inspections.

The municipality will also seek to maintain proper order over mobile vending activities in the wilayat.”
