Thunderstorms predicted over parts of Oman

Muscat: Thunderstorms associated with active downward winds were forecast over parts of the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday.

"There are chances of the formation of convective clouds and thunderstorms accompanied by active downward winds over parts of the wilayats located on the Al Hajar Mountains and the neighbouring wilayats during the afternoon," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.

"Thunderclouds are currently active, with scattered thunderstorms continuing, accompanied by active downward winds, and hail falling on parts of Al Hajar Mountains and parts of the governorates of North Al Sharqiyah and Al Dhahirah, in addition to the formation of clouds in parts of Al Buraimi and Al Dakhiliya governorates.”
