Muscat: Al Mawaleh Central Market for vegetables and fruits has announced its readiness to receive Eid Al-Adha by providing different and sufficient quantities of commodities.
The Municipality said that Muscat Municipality, represented by the Department of the Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits, announced its readiness to receive Eid Al-Adha in terms of providing different types of fruits and vegetables in quantities that meet the needs of the Omani market in the Sultanate of Oman , with intensification of technical and health control and implementation of inspection campaigns in shops, food facilities and stores located under the umbrella of the market to ensure the availability of an appropriate environment for the trading of vegetables and fruits. Taking into account taking health and safety measures and applying the necessary health requirements.
In conjunction with the approaching Eid Al-Adha, the central market for vegetables and fruits is witnessing a demand from consumers to purchase various types of fruits, vegetables and crops. The market administration has been providing the appropriate quantities of types of vegetables and fruits that meet the needs, both local and imported.
The total number of shipments coming to the central market for vegetables and fruits from June 5, 2022 to July 5, 2022 amounted to 2,066 refrigerators and containers loaded with shipments weighing 41,320 tonnes of vegetables and fruits. Also, 792,487 tonnes of vegetables and fruits were destroyed during the same period.
