
Muscat: A job rotation project, initiated by the Ministry of Labour, will help employees improve their skills and diversify their knowledge.
To implement this, the Ministry of Labour organised a meeting of the directors of the Department of Job Rotation Project for all units of the state apparatus.
The meeting aimed to acquaint the participants with the job rotation initiative in all government departments.
Khalsa bint Habib Al Farsi, Director of the department of the job rotation initiative, made a video presentation, which highlighted the mechanisms for transfer and rotation of employees among government units in accordance with the controls and terms of job rotation.
She also pointed out that job rotation is one of the methods of career development aimed at improvement of skills and diversification of experience of employees.
It also aims to prepare the employees to acquire knowledge and additional competencies that qualify the employee develop his/ her field of work.
Experts said job rotation system helps the employees to improve their skills and knowledge depending on their respective locations and functions, leading to the improvement in performance and thus helping the society.
Last month, the Ministry of Labour held its first meeting on job rotation policy.
In the meeting, the Ministry of Labour reviewed and assessed the application of job rotation system in government departments.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development.
In that meeting, Shaikh Mohammed bin Al Waleed Al Hinai, head of the central team tasked with the initiative, pointed out that job rotation brings about many benefits to society like upgrading the quality of government services through administrative reforms and improvement in human capital efficiency.
