Muscat: An Omani national has drawn inspiration from the sense of contemplation and creativity provided by the wonderful landscapes of his country to take up photography.
Khalid Al Mawali finds that alongside Oman’s natural wonders in the form of its diverse terrain and natural beauty, are many historic legacies and traditions that exist even today.
“Opportunities are always present in photography…people’s lives always embody the most beautiful pictures,” he said. “What excites me when it comes to taking good photos are documenting people’s lives.”
So fond and passionate is he about the camera that Khalid has become a full-time photographer, and is working on publishing a book featuring his best works, as well as an exhibition to showcase his work to the public.
“Yes, I am thinking of publishing a book in the near future,” he said. “Oman is after all beautiful in every sense of the world.
Everything here invites you towards contemplation and creativity. Nature, people, and life constitute wonderful memories that deserve to be remembered.”
Specialising in photos that show the emotions and history of people’s lives and traditions, Khalid also has some advice to share with others who want to take up photography.
“A photographer should be prepared and always ready to take a good picture, because the picture is a special and unique moment that cannot always be repeated.”
