1. 3 expats, 4 Omanis arrested for illegal fishing in Oman
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has arrested three expats and four Omanis for fishing lobster outside the season and seized 21 illegal fishing nets in the Dhofar Governorate.
"The fisheries control team, in cooperation with the Shaleem Police Station, arrested three expatriates, accompanied by four Omani fishermen, fishing for lobster outside the season. The necessary legal procedures are being completed against them," the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhofar Governorate said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the fisheries control team in the Governorate of Dhofar is carrying out an inspection campaign in the Arabian Sea, adjacent to the wilayats of Rakhyut and Dhalkoot, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, where 21 fishing nets and 25 fishing cages were seized, which were used to catch lobster fish outside the season.
2. Expat airlifted to hospital in Oman
The Royal Air Force of Oman has conducted a medical evacuation for an expat who was suffering from a critical health condition in Musandam Governorate.
A statement issued online by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said: "One of the helicopters of the Royal Air Force of Oman carried out a medical evacuation for a resident suffering from an emergency health condition. He was transferred from Dibba Hospital to Khasab Hospital in Musandam Governorate to receive the necessary treatment."
3. One arrested for smuggling, possessing of drugs in Oman
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested an Asian infiltrator for smuggling and possessing 65 kg of hashish, 11 kg of crystal drug and 1,050 tablets of psychotropic substances.
"The North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, arrested an infiltrator of Asian nationality on charges of smuggling and possessing 65 kilograms of hashish, 11 kilograms of crystal drug and 1,050 tablets of psychotropic substances in association with an international gang. The legal procedures are being completed against him, " the ROP said in a statement.
4. Police arrests 16 foreigners for entering Oman illegally
16 foreigners were arrested by Royal Oman Police (ROP) for entering the Sultanate of Oman illegally .
A statement issued online by ROP said :"The Coast Guard Police in North Al Batinah Governorate arrested 16 infiltrators of Asian nationalities on a smuggling boat. The legal procedures are being completed against them."
