1. Sohar Fort to stay open during National Day holidays
Sohar Fort will be opened to visitors during the 52nd National Day holiday from 2 pm till 7 pm, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said.
"The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is pleased to announce to the honourable public that the doors of Sohar Fort will be opened to visitors during the 52nd Glorious National Day holiday period and the weekend from November 30 to December 3, 2022, from 2 pm until 7 pm, " the Ministry said in a statement.
2. Alcoholic beverages seized in South Al Batinah
Oman Customs has seized large quantities of alcoholic beverages after raiding a site used by expats in the Wilayat of Musannah, South Al Batinah Governorate.
According to the Oman Customs, the Investigation and Risk Assessment Department raided a site for expatriate workers in Musannah and seized large quantities of alcoholic beverages.
3. Expat airlifted to hospital in Oman
The Royal Air Force of Oman has conducted a medical evacuation for an expat who was suffering from an emergency health condition in Musandam Governorate.
"One of the helicopters of the Royal Air Force of Oman carried out a medical evacuation operation for a resident suffering from an emergency health condition. He was transferred from Dibba Hospital to Khasab Hospital in Musandam Governorate to receive the necessary treatment," the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement.
4. Urgent appeal made for platelet donation in Oman
The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) has made an urgent appeal to people with O(+ve) and A(+ve) blood types to donate platelets to cancer patients who require daily platelet transfusions.
"Because platelets can only be kept alive for 5 days, the DBBS would like to draw attention to the fact that many cancer patients require daily platelet transfusions for types of O(+ve) and A(+ve) for seven days. We hope that platelet donors will make an appointment to donate via WhatsApp number: 94555648, " DBBS said in a statement.
