

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has achieved more than 100 percent of its targeted 35,000 job opportunities in the public and private sectors last year, said the Minister of Labour.
Dr. Mahad bin Said bin Ali Ba’Owain, Minister of Labour, said that the number of unemployed who joined the job market in the private sector for the first time exceeded 20,000 in 2022 indicating that the number of people benefiting from the job security programme during 2022 increased by 3,000 compared to 2021.
In his meeting with the governors, the Minister of Labour stated that the number of job seekers until the end of last October amounted to more than 85,000 in the Sultanate of Oman.
