Two arrested in Oman for participation in drug smuggling gang

Muscat: Two residents were arrested in the Sultanate of Oman for participation in an international drug smuggling gang.

A statement issued online by Royal Oman Police (ROP) said: ”The efforts of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Department, led by North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, resulted in the arrest of two drug dealers, who are of Asian nationality, on charges of smuggling narcotic substances in partnership with an international gang with the intent of trafficking them.”

“More than (54) kilograms of crystal drug and (24) cannabis molds were seized from them,” the statement added.

The statement pointed out that the Police Dogs Department was also used to comb the beaches near the place where the accused were arrested. An additional (18) kilograms of crystal drug and (7) cannabis molds were found there, which the two defendants hid among the trees, and the case is still under procedures.
