Muscat: Drew Dudley, the former coordinator of one of the largest university leadership development programs in Canada, will be TED (Technology, entertainment and design) speaker at Back to Business (B2B) Oman event on February 9, according to organisers.
B2B Oman is the largest networking event in Oman, now in the third year, will be held at Grand Hyyat Garden from 7pm till 10:30pm.
“Drew Dudley nevertheless embraces the idea that “leadership cannot be taught. It can only be learned.” This year he is giving talk on the theme Leadership,” the organisers said.
Drew has spoken to over 250,000 people on five continents, been featured on The Huffington Post, Radio America, Forbes.com, and TED.com, where his “TED talk” has been voted “one of the 15 most inspirational TED talks of all time” and viewed over 2.5 million times.
Drew has helped raise over $5 million as the founder or chair of several organizations dedicated to supporting scholarship funds, social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives, including a record-breaking term as the National Chair of Canada’s largest fundraiser for post-secondary students, “Shinerama: Students Fighting Cystic Fibrosis”.
TED is a global set of conferences run by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, under the slogan "Ideas Worth Spreading".
TED was founded in 1984 as a one-off event; the annual conference series began in 1990. TED's early emphasis was technology and design, consistent with its Silicon Valley origins, but it has since broadened its focus to include talks on many scientific, cultural, and academic topics.
