​The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs announced the first day of Eid Al Fitr on Tuesday night. This continued to dominate the news agenda this week in Oman.

1. The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs announced that Tuesday July 5 will be the last day of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Wednesday July 6 will be the first day of Shawal or first day of Eid Al Fitr. This was the best read story online this week.

2. United Arab Emirates has once again opened its doors to tourists from Oman wanting to enter the country without an e-visa, with some saying that they have to pay OMR35 at the Oman-UAE border for a visa. This was the second best read story of the week.
