Over 600 expat workers arrested in Oman

Muscat: More than 600 expat workers have been arrested in the Sultanate of Oman, the Ministry of Labour said on Monday, March 6, 2023.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Labour said that the total number of violating expats stood at 626 in February 2023. This includes 230 expats who left their sponsors and were working for others, 319 left their jobs, and 77 of them committed other violations.

The number of expats who were deported in February 2023 reached 391 workers. This includes 68 of them who left their sponsors and were working for others, 214 who had left their jobs, and 109 of them committed other violations.
