Muscat: Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, and Chairman of Madayn’s Board of Directors held a meeting with Major General Khalifa bin Ali Al Siyabi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, at Al Mazunah Free Zone.
The meeting underscored the growth witnessed by Al Mazunah Free Zone, which is being operated by Madayn, as well as discussed efforts towards streamlining procedures, enhancing competitiveness and attracting investments to Al Mazunah Free Zone.
During the meeting, Eng. Ali bin Salim Al Maashani, Director General of Al Mazunah Free Zone, highlighted the digital processes available to investors through Madayn’s digital platforms (Eddah and Masar Platforms), which incorporate a variety of services such as requesting, evaluating and localising investments, approval procedures for investment activities, and the related financial and administrative aspects.
Al Maashani also highlighted how the free zone’s Eddah System helps streamline entry and exit processes for goods and vehicles, with annual and temporary permits being issued for individuals, equipment, and machinery in coordination with the Royal Oman Police. He added that the free zone aims for simplifying its procedures to achieve increased competitiveness through joint coordination with the Royal Oman Police, including those related to the passage of vehicles and goods to Al Mazunah Dry Port.
On the sidelines of the meeting, a field visit was made to explore the infrastructure development phases of the free zone and the current and future projects.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Saeed bin Khamis Al Ghaithi, Director General of Customs, Hamad bin Hamoud Al Qasabi, Acting CEO of Madayn, and several officials from the Royal Oman Police and relevant government bodies.
