The Sultanate of Oman has received the certificate of listing Al-Khanjar (the Omani dagger) in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This came when UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay received in Paris on Wednesday Dr. Hamad Saif Al Hammami, Oman's Permanent Representative to UNESCO. The Sultanate of Oman managed to include Al-Khanjar, craft skills and social practice, in UNESCO list during the seventeenth session of the intergovernmental committee for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage, held in Morocco last December.
