Why Oman allows residents above the age of 60 to work

Muscat: The decision to allow residents to work after reaching the age of 60 years was taken, on the basis of a study, to benefit from the resident's accumulated experience, announced His Excellency Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baowain, the Minister of Labour on Sunday.

While speaking at the 'Together We Advance' Forum, His Excellency added that the decision to allow a resident worker to work after reaching the age of 60 years is a flexible decision for business owners, and will provide opportunities for job seekers.

This came in the 'Together We Advance' forum, sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs. The Forum is focused on three axes - Oman’s vision, financial sustainability and work.
