
Muscat: Studies will be suspended in schools for the evening period in South Al Batinah Governorate, due to the weather in the Sultanate of Oman.
A statement issued online by Directorate General of Education in South Al Batinah Governorate, said:”It was decided to suspend studies for Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in the evening schools in the governorate, provided that work resumes on, Wednesday, March 29, 2023.”
This came in the interest of the Ministry of Education for the safety of its students, in accordance with Alert No. (1) issued by the National Center for Early Warning of Multiple Hazards, and for the follow-up of the sub-committee for emergency cases management in the directorate of developments in the weather situation with the Central Committee for Emergency Cases Management in the Ministry.
The Ministry of Education announced recently the suspension of studies in schools during the evening shift in the wilayats of Al Amerat and Qurayyat today.
Oman Meteorology indicated that the clouds are moving northeast towards the wilayats of Al Khaburah and Saham in North Al Batinah Governorate, and from Izki and Nizwa towards Qurayyat, Damma Wal’Tayyin and Ibra with chances of thunderstorms.
It also confirmed that the weather today will be cloudy to partly cloudy in most of the Sultanate's governorates, with chances of thunderstorms accompanied by active winds and hail.
