Several rescued as heavy rains lash across Oman

Muscat: Five people were rescued by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) as heavy rains lashed the Sultanate of Oman on Monday and Tuesday, throwing normal life out of gear.

Flash floods were reported in some parts of the country as the air depression brought in rains and thunderstorms across Oman.

A statement issued online by CDAA confirmed that its rescue team in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate rescued four people whose vehicle got stuck while crossing an overflowing wadi in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi. All the four people in the vehicle were safe and in good health, added the statement.
