Imprisonment, fine for deliberately crossing valleys in Oman
The CAA called on everyone to take caution during thunderstorms.

Muscat: Crossing valleys in the case of a weather alert deliberately and endangering lives is punishable by imprisonment or fines.

According to Royal Decree No. (38/2016) of the Traffic Law, whoever deliberately crosses valleys and endangers his life or the lives of others can be punished by three months imprisonment and a fine of OMR 500, or one of these two penalties.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), indicated in its Alert No. (10), issued today, that it is likely to rain during the noon and evening periods, with concentration in the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Dhofar, Al Wusta, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and parts of Muscat Governorate. The rains may range from 30 to 70 mm.

The CAA called on everyone to take caution during thunderstorms, not to cross valleys, avoid low places, and not go to the sea during the warning period.
