Oman crime: ROP arrests 37 infiltrators

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), in collaboration with other military and security departments, last week arrested 37 infiltrators of different nationalities in many wilayats for entering the Sultanate illegally.

Of the arrested, 19 were caught in Dhofar, six in AL Buraimi, five in North Al Batinah, four in South Al Batinah and three in Muscat.

The ROP also deported 44 infiltrators of African nationalities after taking the necessary legal actions, in coordination with their respective embassies, while authorities are checking identities of 441 infiltrators, including 101 women, in order to deport them later.

The ROP requested the community to provide more cooperation with the legal authorities to combat this phenomenon, not to hire, give shelter or facilitate the entry of unchecked labourers into the territory of the Sultanate
