More than 920 prisoners released as a part of the tenth edition of Fak Kurbah initiative

Muscat: In the 10th edition of "Fak Kurbah" Initiative, the Omani Lawyers Association (OLA) has successfully released 925 prisoners who met the conditions of the initiative from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The released cases this year were distributed among all the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

Number of cases released per Governorate is as follows:

Muscat: 194

North Al Batinah: 191 cases,

South Al Batinah: 122 cases,

Al Dhahirah: 97 cases

Al Buraimi: 87 cases.

Al Dakhiliyah: 79 cases

North A’Sharqiyah: 59 cases

 A’Sharqiyah: 40 cases

Dhofar: 33 cases

Al Wusta: 20 cases

Musandam: 3 cases

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Zadjali, supervisor of the initiative and OLA’s Chairman, said: “The current edition of the Initiative once again proved the solidarity and generosity of the Omani society. “

He added:”We have collectively released 5,894 prisoners who were imprisoned or about to be imprisoned for financial claims. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation for the efforts exerted by individuals and institutions to make this initiative a success.”

“Empowering the concept of community participation in Omani society has been a key goal in our initiative. We highly value the constructive cooperation and collaboration from government and private institutions, fellow journalists, and social media influencers, who have helped spread our humanitarian message,” added H.E Al Zadjali.

The Initiative Team has been working tirelessly to facilitate the procedures of fundraising and donation to easily reach all segments of society, including the Athar platform powered by Thawani application.

OLA gave this statement during the press conference on the closing of the tenth edition of the initiative, which was held on Monday at Al Wahat Club in Azaiba, in the presence of a number of local media and representatives of government and private institutions
