Muscat: Muscat Municipality introduced the Baladiyeti app for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of Oman at a meeting organised by the National Business Centre (NBC) in cooperation with Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada).
The seventh session of the Mashura series held at Riyada on Tuesday was aimed at introducing the app and its objectives to the owners of SMEs.
Officials of the Muscat Municipality stressed that the app aims to provide Muscat Municipality services any time at any place via various technologies in a smart way.
It added that the objectives of the application will improve municipal work efficiency by providing better services in innovative ways.
The app will allow easy access to Muscat Municipality services for the largest possible segment; it will also save time, effort and money; and increase transparency and trust between the client and the Muscat Municipality.
The Baladiyeti app will also enable one to access a range of services online.
It provides transactional services, such as applying for jobs, getting building permit renewals, making parking violation payments, getting parking permission, parking reservation, municipal license renewal, lease contract renewal; informational services like Muscat Municipality news, explore Muscat, service directory, health requirements, legal and law, available tenders, Muscat Municipality projects; and interactive services like contact centre, sending a complaint with a photo, a complaint’s follow up, suggestions and service request.
The Baladiyeti app also helps manage transactions with the Muscat Municipality for better follow up and updates.
A dashboard is produced and represented in a way that contains preferences for services in a chart form for better concentration with all important notifications that can be viewed, and to proceed for services, which require immediate action like a renewal or follow up.
The Baladiyeti app also provides an option to view all the related services through a geographical and interactive map.
The Mashura initiative consists of a series of events that provide specialised consultancy in business for the incubated companies.
Topics that are being highlighted in these workshops include entrepreneurship and law, tenders and contracts, company values, among others.
