Muscat: A craft exhibition was inaugurated in the Wilayat of Salalah as part of the 2023 Khareef Dhofar season.
In Salalah, the craft exhibition organised by the Directorate General of Curriculum Development at the Ministry of Education was inaugurated as part of the 2023 Khareef Dhofar season. The exhibition will last for three days.
The exhibition included corners that embody traditional Omani crafts, including the Omani incense burner industry, weaving, costumes, types of palm trees, traditional food preparation tools, etc., in addition to displaying some handicraft products for school students and presenting a practical application of how students practice some Omani crafts.
The exhibition, which is held in the Salalah Grand Mall, also includes cultural competitions that include national and historical questions targeting school students and visitors to the exhibition, in addition to presenting some entertainment shows and traditional arts.
The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and enhancing national craft achievements among the younger generation, highlighting the culture and history of traditional crafts, promoting the practice of these crafts among students, urging them to take care of them, and training them on methods of developing them with high quality and how to market them economically.
