Muscat: People over the age of 60 and those who are suffering from chronic diseases will be vaccinated with the seasonal influenza vaccine from Monday, September 18, 2023.
"Tomorrow, the Ministry of Health will begin vaccination with the seasonal influenza vaccine for people over the age of 60 and people who suffer from chronic diseases such as (respiratory diseases, heart diseases, renal, hepatic, neurological, blood or metabolic disorders, including “uncontrolled” diabetes, and severe obesity in adults and children). In addition to pregnant women, pilgrims, health sector workers, and children aged 24 months," a statement said.
The Ministry called on the aforementioned groups to go to the nearest health institution to take the seasonal influenza vaccine to avoid contracting influenza infection that affects the respiratory system, which may cause serious complications.
The Ministry explained that the vaccine is available in the private health sector for those wishing to take it, for citizens and residents of the community who are not included in the current round.
