Muscat: Royal Oman Police urges the citizens and residents of Sultanate to avoid emails stating that you have won an amazing lottery or prizes, in its official twitter handle.
“We prefer not to answer any email stating the win in the form of prize money or gifts in order to avoid falling into the trap of a mail fraud,” the tweet said.
Every year, thousands of people around the world lose money to telephone and email scams, and Oman is no exception.
Lots of incidents have been reported in Oman that the spammers are trying to dupe gullible residents, mostly expatriates in the country using a raffle scheme announced by a mobile phone service provider.
