Muscat: Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be’ah) signed two agreements with Turbah and NTZ Solutions that are poised to revolutionize Oman's approach to waste recycling and resource optimization. The exciting partnerships were officially announced during the ISWA 2023 World Congress that was held for the first time in the Middle East, hosted by be’ah.

Highlighting the far-reaching potential of these strategic partnerships, Hilal Al Noumani, Chief Operating Officer - Municipal Solid Waste at be’ah, stated, "These agreements are tangible steps in be’ah’s journey to deliver its strategy and help realize Oman Vision 2040 and the national goal of Net Zero by 2050. Our partnerships with Turbah and NTZ Solutions are essential levers that we will fully utilize to uphold our commitment to sustainable waste management and environmental stewardship."

The agreement inked by be’ah is with Turbah, is to preserve natural resources by recycling shredded green and bulky waste materials into compost. This aligns seamlessly with be’ah’s own environmental strategies and Oman's 2040 vision for sustainable waste management and resource optimization. Through cutting-edge recycling techniques, be’ah and Turbah aim to advance circular economy, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to environmental conservation.

Darren Olejnik, Founder and Managing Partner at “Turbah” emphasized the importance of this collaboration, saying, "This partnership aligns with our mission to produce sustainable, non-hazardous value-added products that cater to the growing demand for healthy soil and a diverse ecosystem. The ongoing support from be’ah stands as a testament to the holistic vision encapsulated in the 2040 vision, and the signing of this contract solidifies a lasting connection between our two organizations."

The second milestone agreement was signed with NTZ Solutions for the recycling of green and bulky waste materials into biochar. This novel technology will revolutionize waste management practices and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, two objectives that will drive be’ah’s mission. NTZ Solutions is set to establish the first biochar production facility in Oman, paving the way for sustainable waste management practices in the Sultanate and across the GCC region.

Sharifa Tahir Aidid, Chairman and Founder at “NTZ Solutions”, shared her perspective on the collaboration with be’ah, stating, "This agreement with be’ah reflects our shared dedication to sustainable waste management practices, resource optimization, and environmental responsibility. As the inaugural biochar production facility in Oman, this project aims to set an example for other entities and countries in the region, in both sustainable waste management and the commercialization potential of green projects."
