The Hague: The Sultanate of Oman took part in tasks of the 28th session of the conference of states parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which kicked off in The Hague and will last until 1 December 2023.
The Omani delegation was headed by Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Harthy, the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and its permanent representative to the OPCW.
The conference discussed ways to enhance international cooperation in the field of chemical activities.
The session included electing a president for the current session, deputies and members of the organization’s Executive Council.
During the session, approval was given for the organization’s budget, its programme for next year (2024), the external auditor’s report and amendments to some financial and administrative. The session also discussed the organization’s annual report on implementation of the OPCW during 2023.
