Muscat: It is with great pride that Oman Cricket announces that six of the national team’s front line batsmen will be partaking in a high performance tour focused on advanced batting skills, hosted by the MCC — Lords Academy, London — from August 31 to 8.
The tour is fully sponsored by Oman Cricket and it’s the first high performance tour of its kind to be organised by Oman Cricket. The tour is organised in preparation for the challenges ahead in the World Cricket League 4 to be held in Los Angeles, USA, and the UAE one-day series.
The players chosen to undergo the advanced batting skills training program are Jatinder Singh, Ajay Lalcheta, Amir Kaleem, Syed Amir Ali, Adnan Ilyas and Vaibhav Wategoankar.
These players were picked as they are the current front line batsmen in the side and have more years of contribution left to Oman Cricket.
The vigorous seven-day tour will consist of spin and pace batting assessments, match scenario batting practice, development of new skills, strength and endurance components and other nuance batting development training.
Duleep Mendis (National Coach/CDO) said: “Personally I am aware of the benefits that the players will gain by undergoing such an elite level training program. I would like to thank the Oman Cricket board members, especially Pankaj Khimji and Madhursinh Jesrani together with John Stephenson (MCC Secretary), for agreeing to host our national Cricketers. I am sure this will provide a huge boost for the side and hold us in good stead for the major challenges ahead.”
