Muscat: The activities of the Youth Initiatives Forum at the national level, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY), and hosted by the State of Sohar this year, began today in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, and will continue until December 12, 2023.
Mohammed bin Marhoon Al Maktoumi, in charge of managing the Youth Initiatives Department and Chairman of the Forum’s Organizing Committee, said in the opening speech that this year’s Youth Initiatives Forum comes under the slogan “Youth Creates the Future,” and it is a realistic forum that brings together a number of influential youth voluntary initiatives in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. It aims to introduce them, develop their work, improve their capabilities, exchange their experiences, and implement interactive activities for young people during the forum period.
He added: Through this forum, the Ministry seeks to introduce Omani society to the role of youth initiatives in community development, and to train young entrepreneurs on the scientific foundations of planning and implementing events, in addition to finding joint channels for cooperation between the private sector and youth initiatives, and developing the ideas of youth initiatives in a way that serves Initiatives sector.
The first event of the forum was the opening of the Youth Initiatives Exhibition, which is known as 40 youth initiatives in which 88 participants participate and participate in seventeen youth activities from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to a special corner for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, over a period of three days, in addition to a corner for the forum’s memorial artistic monument.
During the days of the forum, a number of youth workshops and dialogues will be held, including an artificial intelligence session, inspiring speeches, and dialogue sessions on the Creative Mornings initiative, sustainability for non-profit projects, and a conference on anticipating the future for youth. The forum concludes with the “Toastmasters” National Championship, which is a national championship among participants in clubs.
in the Sultanate of Oman is divided into three stages: competitions at the club level, competitions between 11 teams, and competitions between 6 participants. The final competitions are held at Sohar University.
The activities of the forum were sponsored by Dr. Rashid bin Saif Al Mahrezi, Member of the State Council, with the participation of a number of youth entrepreneurs.
